Meeting Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell

Today 30 children from Years¬†4, 5 and 6 visited Ladybridge Primary School where Children’s Laureate,¬†Chris Riddell, told us about his stories and illustrations. The artwork he produced was amazing and the children were enthralled throughout. He was even kind enough to sign some of the children’s copies of his books.

  1. The Anglo-Saxons came from Denmark , Germany and Netherlands. They came from three different tribes Angels , Saxons and Jutes. The Anglo-Saxons possessed these weapons: a sharp sword: a protective shield: a long thin spear: a hand carved bow and iron tipped arrows: a beastly battle axe and shielding iron armour. The Anglo-Saxons were some of the toughest warriors in the world. Beowulf was one of the toughest, strongest and kindest warriors in the world he defeated more than 3 monsters including a mighty DRAGON !
